Client Overview
Schnellecke Logistics is a global leader in logistics and supply chain services, operating across Europe, the Americas, and beyond. With a long-standing commitment to technological innovation and sustainable operations, Schnellecke has been a UiPath customer since 2019. The company employs automation to enhance efficiency, strengthen compliance, and scale critical processes while maintaining a focus on ESG goals. As European sustainability regulations expanded, Schnellecke faced a resource-intensive ESG reporting process. Consolidating data from 80–100 invoice formats across 12 countries was manual, error-prone, and time-consuming. This created risks around delays, compliance, and scalability, making accurate and auditable ESG reporting increasingly difficult.
Building on its RPA foundation, Schnellecke turned to agentic automation to address the complexity and manual burden of ESG reporting. Consolidating data from 80–100 invoice formats across 12 countries had been slow, error-prone, and difficult to scale. During a joint onsite hackathon with UiPath and Brighten Consulting in Wolfsburg, Schnellecke built a multi-agent prototype in just 1.5 days.
AI agents filter invoices for ESG relevance, extract and classify energy data, assign it to the correct reporting scope (Scope 1, 2, or 3), and calculate CO₂ emissions using official frameworks. UiPath robots work with SAP® APIs and other systems to get and standardize data. Employees verify the data. The modular agentic layer, built with UiPath Agent Builder in UiPath Studio and orchestrated via UiPath Maestro™, enables scalable, auditable processes while fostering collaboration between IT and business teams.
Schnellecke began with Scope 1 reporting, with plans to expand to Scope 2 and Scope 3, creating a blueprint for end-to-end global ESG compliance and financial reporting.
Agentic automation has the potential to truly automate processes from start to finish, while keeping humans in the loop to ensure accuracy and compliance.
